Charli XCX Plays a Dark Alter Ego of Herself in Mockumentary Preview
Charli XCX is gearing up for a significant cinematic presence in 2026, starting with the satirical film titled The Moment.
Within the project, the artist plays what she refers to as a hell version of her own persona.
It’s the truest representation of the entertainment world that I’ve ever encountered, the star remarked.
She clarified in a discussion: This isn’t a concert film, but the idea stemmed from the expectation to produce one.
A Sneak Peek into The Moment
The first teaser, released on Thursday, mixes real clips from Charli’s Sweat tour with fictionalized off-stage interactions.
The film is directed and co-written by the director, who explained that the story centers on a scenario where the artist made entirely different choices throughout the publicity of her chart-topping release Brat.

A Busy Acting Schedule
The film is only one of many future movie projects for the star, who recently featured in three festival films in the current year.

Additionally, she signed on to feature in the actress’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.

Musical Contributions
February will also include the launch of the filmmaker’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase original songs from the artist.
She will also provide music for the story Mother Mary, featuring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, planned for launch in the coming year.
The Moment will be released on 30 January.
